INTERMEDIATE & Advanced LEVELS

2026-2027 Academic Calendar:

  • FALL SEMESTER October 11 - December 30, 2026/12 Weeks
  • SPRING SEMESTER January 10 - May 31st w/Pesach Break in April 

CLASS TIMES for this semester are:

  • Novice Mid/High Combo Class - Sundays from 9:00 - 10:30 am EST*
  • Novice Low - Sundays from 10:30 am - 11:30 am EST*
  • Biblical Hebrew 101 Bet (Book 3) - Sundays 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm EST*
  • Intermediate/Advanced Combo Class - Tuesday mornings at 8:00 am EST 

*1ST SUNDAYS from October 4th - May 31st - will be set aside for Monthly Meet Ups, which are open to all classes, all levels, and possibly guest students.  There are 2 Meet Ups on 1st Sundays: 1) for Tehillim Studies & 2) for Modern Hebrew & Heritage Project studies for the Lost Tribes of Israel.  These days will also be used for open-house presentations, podcasts and events.  There are no regular classes on these days, and meet ups are voluntary.  More info on main Hebrew classes page.

Ulpan Or Curriculum

Morah Makedah uses the Ulpan Or iHebrew curriculum in a culturally relevant way to teach conversational Hebrew (mainly to students from the African diaspora), which is a fully equipped digital language immersion curriculum, designed to help students begin speaking Hebrew right away.  

Below are the descriptions of Intermediate-Advanced levels.

INTERMEDIATE LOW to HIGH & Advanced:

The curriculum enables students to converse fluently about various topics using:

  1. Authentic Israeli dialogues
  2. All verb buildings of past, present, future and prepositions
  3. Israeli songs
  4. E-Tone news articles and virtual tours

The Goal:

To lead the student to the following achievements:

  1. Learn past, present, future tense in all 5 binyanim (verb buildings), while acquiring a deeper understanding of prepositions and their conjugations.
  2. Acquire the ability to converse freely and accurately in Hebrew about various everyday topics to get along in everyday life in Israel.
  3. Experience authentic Israeli culture through spoken Hebrew and encountering different people and situations in Israel.

The curriculum is divided into 10 units per level which build the different skills (listening comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing) layer by layer.  

Intermediate levels are followed by the advanced levels.
