Modern Conversational

Greetings Students and Friends!

Starting this summer, students will be offered the opportunity to study conversational Hebrew at their own pace using the Ulpan Or digital curriculum w/tutoring support from Morah Makedah.  If you are passionate about learning Hebrew and advancing towards fluency but a traditional weekly class time doesn’t work for you, then the new Self-paced Tutoring Program may be the right solution for you for this academic school year.   We will also have monthly meet-ups/study sessions for interested students on 1st Sundays.

Details below.

Tuition

Tuition is $700 per year, which gives students an ‘all-access’ pass to learning - Biblical Hebrew, Tehillim courses, Conversational tutoring (2 sessions per month) and monthly group study sessions for the academic year, excluding breaks.  Students have the option to pay tuition monthly or annually.

  • MONTHLY TUITION for all programs is $65/monthly for individuals for one calendar year via Patreon at Patreon subscribing at the VIP GOLD level

Tutoring Sessions

  • BI-WEEKLY TUTORING- The instructor works with students to set their goals and pacing for each semester. Students learn at their own pace and can schedule 30 min. tutoring sessions w/Morah Makedah via the Zoom Meeting app based upon their needs, bi-weekly or monthly.  Slots will mainly be available on Sundays between 7 am to 10 am EST.  These sessions would be designed to review/practice the vocabulary, grammar and dialogue(s) the student is studying in Ulpan Or.  Students can pair up if desired.

Group Meet-Ups/Study Sessions

  • MONTHLY GROUP MEET-UPS - these will be study sessions where students can meet up and practice what they've learned with buddies.  This will begin starting in October and will be a mixture of Ulpan Or and culturally relevant project work - open to all conversational levels.

Support

  • ORIENTATION - Students will have an introductory meeting  w/Morah Makedah on Zoom to get set up and learn the basics of using the program.  If students miss the orientation, they will receive a link to watch the orientation video.
  • SUPPORT - In addition to 1:1 tutoring sessions, students will receive additional support from Morah via WhatsApp/email for homework, test submissions, video/audio recordings, or questions.

Calendar & Next Steps

  • SIGN-UP - After registering, students will receive all links to sign-up for 30-minute tutoring slots w/Morah Makedah bi-weekly or monthly, mainly on Sundays between 7 am and 10 am EST and registration links to other study sessions & courses on Zoom.  The Tutoring Program will run from July - August for the Summer, break for the holy days in September and pick back up for the semester in October.  Students should refer to the academic calendar for 2026-2027.   Please note that instructor availability will generally follow the Doresh Chokhmah academic calendar for breaks/holy days.
